Change Happens in Houston When You Stand Up for Freedmen's Town!
You Have The POWER To Defend Houston's Historic Freedmen's Town!
Friends,
The Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy (HFTC) is charged with "Telling the Story of Freedom" in the historic Freedmen's Town, Houston’s oldest African American neighborhood, located in the Fourth Ward district.
HFTC’s primary focus is to protect and preserve the history of Freedmen’s Town for the benefit of future generations. We support community engagement, re-education, and heritage-based tourism and events.
With your generous donation, we will create a Community Supported Preservation Plan for Freedmen's Town. This plan would develop a unified vision for future preservation efforts, including projects associated with the Emancipation National Historic Trail Study and gaining recognition as a World Heritage Site.
This is a vital step to preserving and protecting Freedmen’s Town and combating erasure!
OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $100,000!
We need your support to reach that milestone! Your donation to the organization, no matter the amount, will strengthen our ability to fulfill the mission, creating a vibrant social, cultural, and educational hub for the community.
This is possible if just 1000 supporters make a $10 monthly recurring donation for just 10 months.
All funds raised will go toward strengthening Freedmen's Town by creating a Community Supported Preservation Plan.
WE CAN NOT CELEBRATE, LEARN FROM, AND BE INSPIRED BY A HISTORY WHICH NO LONGER REMAINS!
DONATE NOW TO JOIN THE COLLECTIVE GIVING AND STOP ERASURE OF HOUSTON'S HISTORY!!
We are grateful for your support of the Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy.
Not only do we need your support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us too!!

Onward and upward,
